It’s all change for football in Australia ahead of the new season: the A-League is now the A-Leagues.

With the Women’s World Cup coming to Australia and New Zealand in 2023, the men’s and women’s competition (previously known as the W-League), will now run under the same name, in order to give the women’s competition equal billing.

While this could cause some confusion, it’s hoped the arrival of league sponsors (the men’s has already acquired Isuzu-UTE) will provide a clear enough differentiation.
