Katharine Watson works from the restored barn of the home she shares with her husband Joe and their two dogs in Portland, Maine. Surrounded by an idyllic garden bursting with flowers and vegetables, it’s easy to see the source of inspiration that defines her trademark style; graphic blooms and patterns of produce adorn her collections of stationery and ceramics.

But she didn’t start out in such a fruitful paradise. After graduating from college, Katharine interned at the Textile Museum in Washington, DC. She started her business from the one-bedroom flat she shared with Joe, initially selling at craft fairs and shows.
