LINDSAY STITCHES ON PLEDGING TO CRAFT EVERY DAY FOR A YEAR

Committing to a year-long craft project can be gruelling, but looking back at the wildest year of my life depicted, stating on Instagram that it was likely I would only stitch a few things a week rather than one thing every day. I persevered though, selecting a and stitching its image onto a 200mm embroidery hoop. For a project undertaken in a year of lockdowns and border restrictions, it is well-travelled. It flew across the country with me when I moved and came along on many road trips up the West Australian coast. My main concern was losing it in transit, so I generally carried it with me. Otherwise, I was never too precious, resolving that any dirt or spills would simply add character. My advice to anyone stitching their own embroidery journal is to use the biggest hoop you can manage, try not to get three weeks behind and don’t accidentally attempt to take multiple pairs of scissors through airport security. My 2020 hoop is displayed in a clear acrylic frame so that the front and back of the piece are both visible. Someone online said that
