Sitting around the sparkling Christmas tree, I smiled as my three children took turns to open their Christmas presents. ‘Look what Santa got me,’ my youngest Brennan, then five, said, showing me a toy car. My older children Porsha, 16, and Kye, 12, were happy with their presents, too, and I was relieved that my months of saving and Christmas shopping had all paid off.
