In David Attenborough terms, this Government is like one of those remarkable snakes that can swallow a whole chicken many times wider than itself and digest it over long periods of time.
Zero carbon, water, electricity, broadcasting, health, housing, immigration, the supermarket duopoly, the Resource Management Act juggernaut, Covid checkpoints and passports, a monstrous great hydro-powered battery and the toilet training of freedom campers – there’s nothing too big or awkwardly shaped for this Government to feed into its maw of reform. The Beehive ethos is only sooks worry about biting off more than they can chew.
