In Times Square, the longest line isn’t for the discount Broadway show ticket booth. Nor is it for photo opps with the costumed Mickeys and Minnies milling about like theme park escapees. The big queue is for a booth where one can write wishes for 2022 on small squares of multi-colored paper. On New Year’s Eve, just after the ball drops at midnight, the wish lists will be blasted into the air as confetti.
