‘Hunts do so much good’
ON this day in 1888, Vincent Van Gogh chopped off his own ear. The man and his artwork were unfortunately only posthumously celebrated and thus the act passed with very little incident. In fact, the lug-lopping was merely a precursor to his eventual suicide two years later.
