‘He’s getting better with age’

ADRIAN SPEIGHT and Millfield Baloney ended their year on the same high they have been riding on throughout, breezing to a win in the winter grand prix.

Judith Witham’s 15-year-old headed this summer’s gold league and also claimed the national title at Stoneleigh, collecting a string of grands prix, area trials and stairways along the way.

“He seems to be getting better with age, he’s getting quicker,” said Adrian, who has been riding “Louie” for three years. “He’s as sound and fit as a butcher’s dog, so fingers crossed we get to carry on like this into the new year.”
