Tell us about the start of your Scottish adventure. How did a young Spaniard end up signing for Raith Rovers in 2001?

I was the top scorer for [fourth-tier] Huesca in Spain and had an offer from Valencia, so I thought, ‘Life is pretty good’. Then my agent told me I wasn’t to go there – that I might enjoy myself a bit too much with the nice weather and nights out. He said he wanted to send me to Scotland instead, to train with a team called Raith Rovers. Now, this agent is like a second father to me, so I took his advice without question and left the next day for Kirkcaldy.
