Things, it need hardly be said, remain far from perfect, but we’re getting there.

Generally speaking, the modern world does a better job than in days gone by when it comes to combating the blatant biases and discriminations suffered by so many minority groups. Happily, too, golf has mostly followed that lead. Some notable exceptions remain, but clubhouses that used to be far from welcoming environments have changed their misguided ways.
