Union to snow

or those of you looking to get away this season from downtown to mountain towns— has its own Polar Express this season. An Am-track train leaves Denver’s Union Station every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning at 7 a.m. heading to Winter Park Base Village and returns at 6 p.m. Travelers love the route because it has epic views through wrap-around windows, avoids traffic on I-70, and allows for more après ski. There is even a bar car on board! “The Winter Park Express offers a unique and hassle-free way to get to the mountains by rail to enjoy a day or a weekend of Colorado skiing,” says Larry Chestler, VP of Amtrak’s Long Distance Service Line. The trains will run through April 3.
