New life for old oilies?

In response to Ask the Experts’ ‘New life for old oilies?’ (PBO January 2022), maybe the contributor could consider creating an artwork from their old oilies? An artist friend of mine, Vlasta Shevchenko, creates art from the detritus of people’s hobbies, and created this fantastic painting using my old jacket.

I bought these oilies when I was 18, they were my first proper set and saw me through Biscay and Baltic crossings, as well as numerous North Sea and Channel voyages. I think they covered 13,000 miles in total and saw me from my teenage years to adulthood.
