I’VE ALWAYS BEEN A WORD lover, but there are some words I just don’t care for, like . Kids get frustrated on long trips when they there.” As adults, many of us have heard the word when we applied for an award or a job: “You got it.” When my youngest granddaughter was born last year, I had finished knitting her lacy blanket. Maybe the real reason I hate the word is because while growing up, I felt “almost but not quite” in several areas: intelligence, looks, talents, social skills. Some days I still feel that way.
