When Yoko Luscher-Mostert wraps up a hard day’s work in the winery with husband Andries Mostert, she can usually be found hunched over a table in their small family home in Denmark, Western Australia. There, for hours on end, she meticulously creates the intricate illustrations and collages used on their wine labels.
When the couple launched Brave New Wine in 2013, they enlisted the help of a graphic designer but nothing hit the mark. “It’s always been super important to us that everything we make reflects us and what we’re about,” Luscher-Mostert says. “So I had the grand idea to make a new label for each wine every vintage.”
