Alpha THE GAY GENERATION?

Each generation has praises to sing about their gay game changers – Oscar Wilde, Freddy Mercury and, on a local front, someone like Simon Nkoli (1957-1998), a ground-breaking Boomer whose organisation GLOW (Gay and Lesbian Organisation of Witwatersrand) lead the first pride march in South Africa (1990). But why is it important to know about generation theory if we can’t even agree on the parameters of these generations? Do generations even exist? and if so, can we answer Mika’s “wrong”, but relevant question amidst this generational jargon today: “Where have all the gay guys gone?”
