This 1973 film version of Jack Rosenthal’s classic sit-com finds Paula Wilcox and the late Richard Beckinsale reprising the roles of Beryl and Geoffrey – an inexperienced young couple attempting to negotiate the sexual minefield of the permissive society – that first made them household names. In the early Seventies, such TV to cinema transfers pretty much held the ailing British film industry together, and this is one of the best, as old-fashioned Beryl continues to slap down the advances of frustrated Geoffrey. It’s available on Blu-ray in a newly remastered version, and extras include the original cinema trailers.
