    700-R4 FLUID QUESTIONS

    Q: I have a 1991 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4WD with the 700-R4 transmission, and I just changed the fluid and filter because it lost third and fourth gear. I got another transmission, and I am wondering if I should run the transmission fluid through a piece of cheese cloth to catch any metal flakes that may contaminate my new transmission?
