Lessons learnt the hard way

My company, Forager Funds Management, first made an investment in New Zealand Media and Entertainment (NZME) in June 2016. The research piece I wrote for the Kiwi media company was concise and simple: I added up the worth of its radio and newspaper assets to reach a per-share value of $1.25. Given a 77c share price at the time, that looked like an attractive investment.

A glance at today’s share price would show that we got it mostly right.
