He’s not yet 30 years old, but botanist Brian du Preez has already identified 10 new plant species in South Africa, two of which might now be named after him. He has also rediscovered a long list of extremely rare plants that haven’t been recorded in decades. This is not something just anyone can do – it takes dedication, detective work, an adventurous spirit and, he says, a sixth sense.
