Scotland’s West Coast wonders

I’VE ALWAYS had a soft spot for the West Coast of Scotland. It’s undeniably beautiful but somehow it seems more than that. Historical, mystical, rugged – and, yes, sometimes stormy, too.

With overseas travel difficult, I’ve come to appreciate just what we’ve got on our doorstep. It’s not strictly speaking on my doorstep – it’s still a seven-hour drive from my home in Lincolnshire – but at least I can load up my boot without having to do battle with the baggage police at Ryanair.
