Thank You, Buddy Holly

It was September 1957 and I was a freshman at Sanford High School. At that time the students in Sanford, Maine, and in six of the surrounding towns all attended Sanford High School. There were about 400 students.

It was a big change from my little one-room school in the southern Maine town of Acton. The high school, which was 10 miles from my Acton home, had three floors of classrooms. Most of the classrooms were larger than my whole school.
