In his book 1912: The Year the World Discovered Antarctica, published in 2012, Chris Turney wrote about his discovery in the British Library of a memorandum written in 1913 by the President of the Royal Geographical Society, Lord Curzon, in which he records his discussions with the widows of Captain Robert F Scott and Dr Edward A Wilson about their husbands’ Antarctic journals.
