    It’s hard to think of a time before YouTube, for many people it would be inconceivable to think of a time when the most popular video hosting website did not exist. But the scary thing is YouTube is only 17 years old. Initially launched as an online dating service, YouTube would go on to become arguably the biggest and most important website in the history of the internet. Launching a platform that would eventually see the rise of Content Creators as well as a bottomless well of information and utter nonsense. But how did a failed online dating site turn into the behemoth it is today?

    YouTube was founded by Chad Hurley, Steven Shih Chen and Jawed Karim. All three were working for Paypal at the time of You-Tube’s founding in 2005. Chad Hurley studied design
