IN AN almost perfect display of top-class boxing and moving, Ellesmere Port bantamweight Paul Butler cruised to an overwhelming points win over Filipino Jonas Sultan at the M&S Bank Arena.

Despite coming in as a ‘late’ replacement for countryman and WBO belt-holder, John Riel Casimero, just a day before, Sultan had seemingly been preparing for just such an eventuality (Casimero having pulled out of a scheduled meeting with Butler for the same title in Dubai in December 2021) and was, somewhat surprisingly, immediately installed as the bookies’ favourite.
