DELHI GOVERNMENT'S INTERVENTION GAINS TRACTION AMONG YOUTH AND INDUSTRY

“The only objective of establishing Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University is to ensure every student of this University who wants a job, gets it, and those who want to do business are equipped with practical knowledge to start it right after their graduation.”

Why are crores of Indians not able to find meaningful employment? Why is India's labour force participation decreasing, instead of increasing in the last few years? Despite being the fastest-growing economy in the world, why is the country unable to engage its youth properly?

While there are many factors that have contributed to the current situation, it's hard to look beyond the obvious skill-set gap between college education and the demand of the industry.

According to India Skills Report 2022, only 48% of the youth of India is employable. Even though the effects of this mismatch are visible later in life, the problem begins at the level of school. A general lack of focus on experiential learning from school days continuing to college lends its hand to future years of underachievement and underperformance.
