Getting to Know God THE HOLY WRATH OF GOD

We are continuing our series on characteristics of God’s nature. Last month we looked at God’s justice and righteousness. We saw that even though we all deserve God’s condemnation (“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”), God nevertheless acts in mercy and grace towards those who repent of their sinful ways and confess faith in His Son Jesus. So where does that leave God’s wrath?

God’s wrath is His deep, intense anger toward those things that go against His holy nature. Here’s two passages, one from the Old Testament and one from the New:
