Poles apart
Q I’ve read that pole work exercises are great for increasing suppleness, but I’ve no idea what to do! Any tips to help me get started?

With pole work, the basic rule is to keep it simple. Start in walk and trot, then gradually increase the number of poles, finishing with some raised poles once your horse is balanced and confident. Bear in mind that canter poles need a good rhythm, or your horse will lose balance and fall back to trot
