Feel the Power
The Festival of Power, Santa Pod’s true opening salvo of the racing season took place over its traditional Easter weekend slot. What wasn’t quite so traditional was the British weather throughout the Bank Holiday weekend. Three days of sunshine (four if you include Thursday’s test and tune day) were almost unprecedented, yet very much appreciated by racers and spectators alike.

Powering down the quarter mile were Nitro and Nostalgia Funny Cars, jet cars, Top Fuel Dragsters and the competitors in the various national championships, including the now regularly fivesecond, 240mph Pro Mods.
The track action was complemented by monster trucks, stunt shows and sideshows, meaning it really was a weekend offering something for everyone. And if it’s an indication of what’s to come, we’re in for an awesome drag racing season ahead.
