FORD 3000 REBUILD

In recent years, the popularity of Ford’s 1000 Series range of tractors has been on the increase. Introduced to rival the 100 Series machines from Massey Ferguson, the Basildon-built machines suffered with a few teething problems to begin with but, by the time the one featured here was built, most of the issues had been ironed out.

This Ford 3000, belonging to Tony Maikliem, arrived with me for a full, cosmetic restoration. Much of the machine is still original, but I could also tell that quite a few replacement parts have been fitted in the past. New reproduction parts are easily identified as they’re often finished
