WE ARE VERY much in the breeding season with lots of youngsters and eggs being laid by many of our avian species; even some of our older birds who haven’t laid for a while have been laying this year.
A classic example of this is a) now 27 years old laying an egg – something she has not done for the last two years. We have also managed to hatch a single common piping guan chick () in the incubation room. We may need to move the pair, as we hopefully have a new and exciting species going into their enclosure very soon – again, we haven’t had any eggs from this female since 2020.
