    What was your way into bass?

    TŪRANGA I picked up the bass in 2020 when Alien Weaponry asked me to audition for them. It probably sounds whack that they asked me to audition when I had no bass experience, but I’ve been a guitar player for 11 years and a piano player for 16 years. I am a big fan of flamenco, and it was great because the skills needed for that style on the guitar—like fingerstyle and triplets—translated really well to playing the bass.
