Travel CHAOS

Children slept draped awkwardly on laps or curled up on airport seats as their weary parents desperately hoped their flights to the sun would soon be called.

Other travellers arrived at airports to join a snaking queue, endure a lengthy wait and then be told their holidays had been cancelled altogether.

Some had even boarded the plane and strapped on their seatbelts only to be turfed off after a text brutally informed them their holiday was off. And hundreds have been stranded abroad, forced to pay out thousands of pounds to get home.

This is the shocking picture for many travellers over the past few weeks and worryingly, the disruptions are forecast to continue.
