CREATING CONNECTIONS

I began reading Writing Magazine a year ago, when I decided to pursue this hobby of mine. You have been with me every step of the way. The encouragement from other readers and authors within your pages keeps me going through the countless rejections.

I’m mostly housebound with CFS/ME. Writing has a flexibility that works well with my health challenges. I particularly enjoy some of the writing opportunities you list, as they add much-needed purpose to my days. I typically write with my elderly dog, Rosie, sitting on my lap at the dining table. She helped celebrate my first writing acceptance late last year. I have since been published in nine literary journals and magazines!

Writing has reconnected me to society, and helped me find my place in the world. When my health has so often dictated what I can’t do,
