Rare chance to sample GM 201 Class loco on Irish branch line

TÁILTE TOURS is a new, voluntary led fundraising initiative in the Irish Republic, whose aim is to raise funds to support voluntary run heritage railways and museums. The team behind Táilte Tours is David Walsh, Niall Kelly and Alex Richardson, all of whom are experienced in the organisation of heritage railways.

Its first venture is on the weekend of August 20/21. On the Saturday, the ‘Premier Rose’ tour will run from Dublin Connolly along the scenic Kerry branch to Killarney and Tralee. Traction is by a GM 201 Class loco and the stock will be Mk.4s. Full itinerary is: Dublin Connolly-Islandbridge Junction-Portarlington-Portlaoise-Mallow-Killarney-Tralee and return. This is a most
