‘I’m physically and mentally stronger’
ELAINE COUPLAND, 59, lives in Northumberland and is feeling better than ever after taking up ballet again.
‘I’ve exercised all my life, to varying degrees, and I’ve always found there to be so many benefits. I started tap and ballet lessons when I was just four years old and it helped build my confidence. I loved learning the routines and being part of something with girls of all ages.
I carried it on for years, but when I got my first job at 20 and started moving around the country, I gave it up. I still managed to fit exercise in then, usually Jane Fonda routines at home.
