780 rescue part 18

Working outside has brought many delays regarding the chance to apply some paint to the skid unit of the 780. During the restoration I have prepared and primed various areas of the skid unit, beginning at the front and working rearwards. I finally cleaned the rear axle area and was able to prime this, bringing the initial priming to completion.

NEW SPRAY GUN

After a bit of unsettled weather, it has at last settled into some warm sunny days, which has enabled some major progress to be made.

Whilst shopping recently in a local supermarket I saw a paint spraying kit, which features an electrically-powered spray gun, and took the opportunity to purchase it to see how well it works.

The area around the skid unit was cleared of any unwanted articles and the ground beneath swept of any loose debris. The intention was to give the whole skid unit a couple of complete coats of primer and follow closely with some David Brown
