BIRD breeding has changed beyond all recognition since my induction to the hobby in 1957. I started on native species in the mid-1960s. No one who I knew was cage-breeding British birds. The nearest they got to it was with linnet and goldfinch mules.
In the late 1970s, I became interested in cage-breeding natives. The books were of little value. There was nothing of any substance relating to cage breeding in any literature, including Cage &. Most of the information available was the same junk written different ways.
