Cyclist: Congratulations on your podium place at the Dauphiné. Are you ahead of where you expected to be, form-wise?

Ben O’Connor: Thanks. There’s always going to be a gap to Jonas Vingegaard and Primož Roglič, but I didn’t expect to be literally in between them and the next guys. If you’re with the best in the world it’s really cool to know that if you improve you’re going to be fighting for wins. It was a resounding success.

Cyc: Is there more to come?

I thought last year, after Romandie [where O’Connor came 6th], that was my peak level, but that definitely wasn’t
