‘Like a fairytale’

A YEAR after bilateral stifle surgery, Sophie Chatwin’s seven-year-old mare Katharina-Trix Us scored a double win – claiming the elementary silver straight and freestyle, the latter with nearly 79%.

“It was almost like a fairytale,” said Sophie, who trains with Adam Smyth and Rui Campeao. “She’s my little superstar.”

Following a long rehab process, Trix bounced back and this year finished sixth in the novice silver at the national championships.
