POETS & WRITERS MAGAZINE ANNOUNCES application information for writers conferences, literary festivals, and residencies of interest to poets, fiction and nonfiction writers, and translators. Applications for the following events are due shortly. Conferences and festivals with rolling, first-come, first-served admission are listed well in advance. Some accept registration on the date of the event. Contact the sponsoring organization for an application, complete guidelines, and updates regarding public health conditions. When requesting information by mail, enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE). All accessibility information has been provided by the sponsoring organizations.

All Write Creative Nonfiction Conference

The 2022 All Write Creative Nonfiction Conference will be held from October 19 to October 23 at the Spencertown Academy in Columbia County, New York. The conference features one-hour workshops to discuss 15 to 20 pages of each writer’s work, an opening night reception, author talks, a publishing panel, and craft workshops for nonfiction writers. While all workshops will be held in person, the panelists and presenting authors will attend the conference virtually. The faculty includes poet and nonfiction writers Donna Kaz and Pramila Venkateswaran; fiction and nonfiction writers Rahne Alexander and Vanessa Mártir; and nonfiction writer Taylor Harris. Participating publishing professionals include publicist Michelle Blankenship (Blankenship Public Relations). Tuition, which includes all conference events and meals for Saturday and Sunday, is $400. Housing is not provided. Submit a creative nonfiction writing sample of 10 to 14 pages, which may include up to two excerpts from longer works or a complete work of prose with a $6 application fee by September 10. Two or three scholarships will be available for local writers from Columbia County, New York; to apply, submit a creative nonfiction writing sample of 10 to 14 pages, which may include up to two excerpts from longer works or a complete work of prose, and a 500-word essay about what this scholarship would mean at this stage in your career with a $6 application fee by September 9.
