Before Aardman, there, and that titular saggy old cloth cat. Those of a certain age (40-plus) will immediately feel nostalgic, although Pallant’s scrupulously researched tome takes a very serious-minded approach (with talk of “the bricolage of ”). But it’s still heartening to see these beautiful homespun animations get their due.
