TEARS flowed freely as Jessica Ely was not only crowned Equifest supreme champion of champions with her hack victor, Brindlebrook Little Scoundrel (Yorkie), but became the last person ever to “ride the centre line” of the iconic East of England Showground before the gates shut for good (see box, p60).
Jessica, who runs a livery yard in Pontefract, Yorkshire, with her sister Rebecca, has had many major successes with the 15-year-old Yorkie over the past six years, including Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) wins and a Royal Windsor title, but reckoned this trumped them all.
