‘I feel very lucky to have been part of her legacy’

KIM KNOTT has taken photos of stars such as Kate Moss, Sir Paul McCartney and Mariah Carey, but says his shoot with Diana remains his favourite. Taken in 1995 for her Christmas card, his picture of the Princess with her sons was originally published in black and white but a colour version has now been released.

Diana was the easiest person I’ve ever photographed. She was such a natural and so photogenic. She was gorgeous and had a radiance and presence about her and an inner beauty that I was lucky enough to capture. Our shoot took place in a studio in Acton, West London. She and the boys arrived in a Range Rover and she came in and put everyone at their ease.
