hile’s strong macroeconomic position is helping support ever-growing healthcare investment. Annual expenditure on healthcare accounts for around 5% of GDP, according to the US International Trade Administration (ITA), and public expenditure on health is projected to have risen a remarkable 8.9% in 2021, to $13.5bn. The government announced in 2021 that the budget for mental health alone would rise by 310%. As the ITA has noted, the growing market has attracted a range of foreign investors, including from the United States.
