• Scraps of fabric to total about 2m (2¼yd). Each piece needs to be at least 10cm (4in) square. Lorraine used an assortment of fabrics in dark and light values and large and small prints• 3m (3⅜yd) backing fabric• Batting at least 170cm x 150cm (66in x 58in)• Template plastic• Fine-point permanent-marking pen or 2B pencil• Milliners• Rotary cutter, ruler and mat• Sewing machine with ¼in foot• General hand-sewing supplies
