CRANBERRY-GLAZED MEATBALLS

Makes 40 meatballs or 20 appetizer servings

MEATBALLS:

2 tablespoons butter, divided
1 cup finely chopped onion
4 cloves garlic, minced
2½ pounds lean ground beef
2 pounds ground pork
⅔ cup panko (Japanese bread crumbs)
½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
½ cup chopped fresh cranberries
⅓ cup heavy whipping cream
¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
4 large eggs, lightly beaten
2¼ teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons stone-ground mustard

GLAZE:

2 cups Jellied Cranberry Sauce (recipe on page 82)
1 cup chili sauce*
2 tablespoons stone-ground mustard
¼ teaspoon ground chipotle chile pepper

TO SERVE AS SLIDERS:

2 baguettes, halved
