When you start Minecraft, you enter in the Overworld! This is where the fun happens – you can explore, build, craft, mine, and fight your way across the entire landscape, discovering the game’s many secrets along the way in your quest to find and defeat the elusive ender dragon!
The Overworld is the most varied and friendly of Minecraft’s dimensions – you’ll visit the other two, the Nether and the End, later on. The Overworld is a near-infinite landscape, so even if you walked in a single direction forever you’d never reach the edge!
