It was great to see Supercars back on TV – and with fans there! – after what was a very disjointed 2020. Even better that it was at Bathurst and while watching the excellent Fox/Kayo telecast it brought a number of memories back to me.

My first trip to the Holy Grail of motor racing in Australia was way back in 1969. At the time I was a very young not-quite-19-year-old who had hardly ventured out of my home town of Albury. As it happened,
