We Just Need One Buffalo

After having hunting trips, two of our children's weddings, and vacations cancelled and/or postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was more than ready to return to South Africa for my fourth hunting safari experience. While there was the temptation to delay the safari for yet another year, my wife, Lora, and I assessed the travel situation, talked to our outfitter, and made the decision to book flights and return to Africa. To say I love Africa is an understatement. It is a most enchanting land with a diversity of flora and fauna I have not experienced in the many other corners of the world to which I have traveled. Most of all, the people of South Africa are incredibly warm and welcoming.

Following my longtime desire to experience Cape buffalo hunting, I was the winning bidder on an SCI chapter auction for a buffalo hunt in South Africa. I have hunted Africa with three different safari companies, and this hunt would be another new experience with Thwane Safaris Africa in Northern Limpopo.
