Hoëveldjagters, under the leadership of chairperson Frik Coetzee, hosted the first inter-association team shoot of the CHASA 2022 sports-shooting season on the weekend of 18 to 19 March. CHASA’s mantra is “hunters who shoot”. By nature, we are hunters first and foremost, but by design we shoot to improve our rifle craft and shooting technique.
The first arrivals from midday on the Friday settled in at the little gem of the Olifants River Lodge. Marlene and her team had everything ready. Teams were soon catching up on some energy after the long drive from various parts of the country to the banks of the Olifants River.
With the crackling coals and leaping flames, plus the usual bit of fortification, the shoot got off with a briefing around a braai on the Friday
